Ratan Tata, Visionary Industrialist and Philanthropist, Passes Away at 86; Nation Mourns


Ratan Tata, the revered chairman emeritus of Tata Group, passed away at the age of 86 in Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on October 9, 2024. His death has led to widespread mourning across the nation, with tributes pouring in from political leaders, business icons, and citizens alike.

The Maharashtra government declared a day of mourning on Thursday to honor his legacy, with his mortal remains kept at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) for public darshan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialists like Anand Mahindra, Mukesh Ambani, and Sundar Pichai paid heartfelt tributes to Tata, praising his visionary leadership and dedication to social causes.

A state funeral will be held to commemorate the life of this iconic figure, who transformed the Tata Group into a global powerhouse while maintaining an unwavering commitment to philanthropy and nation-building.
