Shortlisted for the Tribute Global Digi Awards for Women – 2025
Special Recognition Category: Women Empowerment Through Literature & Education
In a world that often rushes to speak but rarely pauses to listen, voices like Ashima Syal’s bring depth, courage, and healing. An educator, poet, and mentor based in Mumbai, Ashima has been officially shortlisted for the Tribute Global Digi Awards for Women 2025 under the Special Recognition Category: Women Empowerment Through Literature & Education.
Hosted by The Holistic Pine: International Independent Lifestyle Journal, this prestigious honour acknowledges women whose journeys carve new pathways—those who empower through words, wisdom, and vision. The shortlisted changemakers in this category receive the same distinguished recognition as awardees: a formal Prashastipatra (Letter of Citation), digital certificates, and features across global media.
A Teacher, A Poet, A Changemaker
Currently serving as Assistant Professor at KESS Shroff College, Ashima Syal is more than an academic—she is a catalyst. She teaches communication skills to undergraduates while pursuing her Ph.D. in English Literature, consistently bridging knowledge with action. Whether through free public speaking workshops for women at SNDT Women’s University or poetry-led safe spaces for storytelling, Ashima believes in the silent revolutions birthed by expression.
Her literary pursuits—ranging from research to poetry—are rooted in social upliftment. Her writing workshops often center on how writing can act as a mirror and a megaphone, especially for women and young learners seeking their voice.
In Her Own Words
As the news of her shortlisting spread, Ashima shared a powerful personal testimony:
“Every woman defines strength and liberates the world with her dreams. I’m grateful to Holistic Pine for extending the honour for recognizing women’s talent, potential in the form of Global Digi Awards for Women. This accreditation is not only a pride label for women, but this is an initiative for every woman out there who makes a difference in the society through her uniqueness of thought. It is a space where women’s creativity is seen, heard. Today’s society is a women’s society. A woman is being born in the society and a woman is the one who is building the society. Skies are the limit for women. My advice to every woman who is an aspirer, dreamer, believer would be this: Dear women, have faith in your dreams and live them every day, create a story of inspiration in every corner of the world, because it's you who define the world, the world never defines you.”
Writing for Change, Living with Purpose
Ashima’s guiding lights include Amrita Pritam—whose brave vulnerability shaped her literary soul—and Indira Nooyi, who showed her that ambition can thrive in harmony with compassion. Whether in classrooms or literary circles, Ashima instills courage and clarity in those she mentors.
Her future plans include establishing a writing community for aspiring authors and expanding her impact through inclusive workshops across India. Her ethos is simple yet profound: writing is not just an art—it’s a responsibility, a refuge, and a rebellion.
What Lies Ahead
Ashima joins five other remarkable women shortlisted in her category. A final jury evaluation is in progress, with winners set to be announced soon in The Holistic Pine, The Great Indian Review, and Writers’ Kalam Literary Bulletin.
“Ashima’s story is a reminder that transformation doesn’t always come from the top—it often begins in a classroom, in a poem, or in a voice finally heard,” said a spokesperson for the Awards Committee.
Stay tuned as The Holistic Pine continues to celebrate the women who are writing not just their stories—but a better, braver world.
