Piyali Mitra
Dr. Piyali Mitra is an acclaimed academic, editor, and bioethics researcher who currently serves as the Deputy Editor of the Asian Bioethics Review, a leading publication under the Centre for Biomedical Ethics, National University of Singapore (NUS). She also holds the role of Director/Secretary at the International Centre for Applied Ethics & Public Affairs (ICAEPA), UK, promoting dialogue across disciplines on ethics in biotechnology, AI, healthcare, and the environment.
With a Ph.D. in Philosophy specializing in Reproductive Ethics, Dr. Mitra’s work traverses reproductive autonomy, human care, and the ethical implications of medical practice. She is a Series Editor for the Ethical Dilemmas in Philosophy series at the American Philosophical Association and a research member of CAIDP, USA.
Her scholarly contributions include chapters in The Routledge Companion to Indian Ethics and numerous papers in international journals. A fierce advocate for women's rights and ethical reform, she blends academic insight with practical advocacy, working to humanize medical ethics and empower underrepresented voices. Dr. Mitra’s leadership, intellect, and compassion position her as a global thought leader in ethical discourse and a true beacon of change.

🌿 Eshita Singh – Literary Changemaker for Women’s Empowerment and Holistic Leadership
Ashima Syal is a Mumbai-based academician, writer, and passionate advocate for women's empowerment through education and the arts. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at KESS Shroff College, she teaches Communication Skills to undergraduate students, nurturing their confidence and expressive power. Ashima began her career with SNDT Women’s University, where she initiated free public speaking workshops, recognizing the urgent need to equip young women with assertive communication skills.
Currently pursuing a PhD in English Literature with a focus on Spoken Word Poetry, Ashima aims to create inclusive platforms where women can share their stories, break silence, and build solidarity. Her vision includes writing women-centric literature and fostering a vibrant community of writers through creative writing workshops.
Deeply aware of the social challenges women face, Ashima leverages her teaching, writing, and public speaking experience to advocate for safety, respect, and mental well-being. She believes that changing how society listens to and values women is essential for societal transformation. Inspired by literary icon Amrita Pritam and leadership trailblazer Indra Nooyi, Ashima embodies fearlessness in thought and balance in action. Her commitment to education, creativity, and emotional expression continues to illuminate a path of empowerment for countless others.
