The Holistic Pine Directory of Indian Authors 2024

The Directory of Indian Authors 2024 is a first time attempt by any publication in India. There has been many attempts to create Directory of Publishers, the proverbial telephone Directory, etc. However, one such collective attempt for authors is a unique one. The Directory of Indian Authors by The Holistic Pine showcases the diverse literary talent present in the country. This comprehensive directory features a wide range of authors across various genres and languages, providing a platform for readers to discover new voices and perspectives in Indian literature. It serves as a valuable resource for literary enthusiasts, researchers, and publishers looking to explore the rich literary landscape of India. Having said that, The Holistic Pine Directory of Indian Authors 2024 is also a work in progress. It constantly incorporates newer names in the arena of Indian writings in English. Presently, the authors who have come to us are English language writers. Hopefully, in the future, we will be able to incorporate Hindi and other regional language writers as well. Only then will this Directory of Indian Authors become a comprehensive publication.

By showcasing authors, the attempt is also to give them support and recognition for their contributions to the literary world, ultimately fostering a stronger literary community in India. New authors, self-published authors as well as experienced and veteran authors require a dignified space where they could exhibit all their works in mutual respect. Readers can discover and new and varied voices in literature through The Holistic Pine Directory of Indian Authors 2024. We aim to celebrate the creativity and cultural richness of Indian literature, highlighting the importance of storytelling and diverse voices in shaping our society.

The mother organisation, Writers' Kalam Publishing, views this project as an exquisite opportunity to foster collaboration and promote Indian authors on a global scale. By highlighting the depth and breadth of talent within the Indian literary community, The Holistic Pine Directory of Indian Authors 2024 aims to elevate the voices of these authors and celebrate their contributions to the world of literature.

The authors are added in alphabetical order in order to make it easier for readers to discover new authors and explore their work.

Blurb:

‘My Dad’s Daughter’ is an emotional journey of a daughter with her father, which, for her, ended at the hospital door. Divya’s father succumbed to COVID in May 2021, and that marked the most catastrophic experience for her as she helplessly witnessed her father going through an unimaginable ordeal and passing away without his family around him. Unable to handle the sudden demise of her dad in the most unprecedented circumstances witnessed by this generation, Divya struggled to find any closures. Even with all the means, she could not provide a befitting farewell to her Dad. For a long time, her heart carried the burden of death only to realise later that our relationship with our parents is not confined to the mortal world. The bond is so deep that a parent finds channels to communicate with their child through different mediums. What changed for Divya in the few months since her father’s passing away that made her believe in this idea? How did Divya find closure? As Divya opens up about her most well-guarded emotional moments and confessions in this book, the story unfolds to reveal how loss of a loved one and the ensuing pain tests and changes a person. This story is as personal in nature as it is universal in its themes of love, loss and pain. To read ‘My Dad’s Daughter’ is to embark on a journey across a sea of emotions as gentle as a calming breeze and as turbulent as a sea storm and find closure at the end of it.

Tides of Life

In the words of Robert Frost – “Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought

has found words”.

Tides of Life contains many of my emotions converted to thoughts. These words represent the usual life experiences through my lenses. The lenses include my tryst with some of the experiences, my view on what is happening around us and what I have observed as a woman, parent, teacher, friend and above all a layman.

I really think that most of the poems would strike a chord with you under the different roles that you play as they are the reality expressed in simple words.
