Postpartum

Silent Screams
Paled face
Futile fury,

Forbidden tears-
Under my pillow's cotton.
Scattered thoughts-
beneath the RED blanket,

I Wandered like a night owl
With his colic
for no obvious reasons.
His was strident
While
Mine was gentle
But it was menacing

I tried to
widen my deadly lips ;
to get back
my grin to
Unwanted visitors.

But I couldn't
As if I was holding a grudge

"Hanging flesh in arms and waist
Dark neck and scars in the stomach,
FLESHY ....."
They knocked along with sniggers.

No sword nor stabbed mark
But was bleeding.

Nobody told me
It is normal to have this
Baby blue;
Instead
I got finest retort from
"WOMEN"
It is not the first time , someone becomes pregnant
We have 'TEN'

Perhaps you have
But mine was different
Since I stopped bleeding last...

I Yelled

But nobody gave a hoot!

Bhavya Shree V

Poet and teacher, Bhavya Shree was born in the beautiful village of Paravanadukkam in Kasargod district. Following graduation and teacher training, she decided to pursue a career as an English language and literature teacher. She hopes and longs for the readers to have a deeper grasp of Marginalised Sections and therefore, focussed on herself as a bilingual poet of social and personal realism in minimalist poetry.Two of her realistic poems, "Funeral" and "Labour Room," were published in the online journal Holistic Pine, with the latter winning the "Readers Choice Award." She has marked her excellency by authoring poems in both English and Malayalam, which have been published on her blog http://bhavyabharathii.blogspot.com She is the daughter of Mr. Vasudevan Nambiar and Bharathi M. She is married to Mr. Krishna Kumar A and they have a kid as well.
