For This Resilient 'Woman' by Bhavya Shree V

Poetry

For This Resilient
'Woman'

Yes

This is the day

My neonate

Arrived out of the blue

Was

Fragile,

Wrinkly

damp or even a bit bloody.

Scared of unseen folk,

With a wry face.

And

Annually

This day

WE

Blow out the candles

Have a fiesta for our

neonate

But

covertly

I celebrate myself

for this day

How absurd?

You will ask

I am pretty sure .

But

Yes

I Do it

Annually

Only to 'ME'

To reminiscent

That long haul

Acute pain

and

For my raw and unhealed

Scars

Yes

Annually

I DO it

To celebrate this

Resilient

WOMAN;

and for my

Unseen

Maternity"
