Maruti Suzuki, the renowned automaker, has recently achieved a remarkable milestone with its beloved hatchback, the Wagon R. Since its inception in 1999, the company has achieved an impressive sales figure of 30 lakh units for the Wagon R. This achievement solidifies the car's popularity and its enduring appeal among Indian consumers.

Currently priced between Rs. 5.54 lakh and Rs. 7.42 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, the Wagon R continues to captivate customers with its enticing offerings. The third-generation Wagon R is built on Maruti Suzuki's advanced Heartect platform, ensuring a solid foundation for exceptional performance and safety. It boasts two engine options—a 1.0-litre petrol engine and a 1.2-litre petrol engine, providing customers with a versatile range of powertrain choices. Notably, the car also comes equipped with a factory-fitted CNG kit, further expanding its appeal as a fuel-efficient option. In CNG mode, the Wagon R delivers an impressive claimed fuel efficiency of 34.05km/kg.

The Wagon R's success extends beyond its sales numbers. It has secured the position of the best-selling car in India for two consecutive years, underscoring its unparalleled popularity. Furthermore, Maruti Suzuki has exhibited a prototype of the Wagon R that runs on flex-fuel, hinting at potential future developments for this highly sought-after model.

Shashank Srivastava, the Senior Executive Officer of Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, expressed his thoughts on this momentous achievement, stating, "The Wagon R's continued triumph, with over three million cumulative sales, is a testament to its unwavering reign as one of India's most iconic hatchbacks. It brings us great joy to share that the Wagon R boasts an impressive 24% of repeat buyers, as customers eagerly upgrade to a new Wagon R. This 'True Tall Boy' has consistently ranked among the top 10 best-selling cars in India for the past decade and has proudly held its position as the best-selling passenger vehicle in the country for the last two years."
